Supporting young, talented, and local people to grow their skills and pursue promising careers
My amazing team and I here at Created are having a whirlwind few weeks as, last week, we were honoured to welcome two work experience students – Rachael Oakley and Andrea Maloney from Farnborough College of Technology – to the team.
Staying with us for a couple of weeks, these two talented young ladies have come to our vibrant office near Andover in the idyllic county of Hampshire, to learn and gain experience of all things creative; the importance of a strong brand identity, the impact of a transparent and ambitious marketing campaign, and how to create a stunning, effective company logo.
Both studying BA (Hons) Graphic Design, with a view to graduating in the summer of 2018, the wonderfully enthusiastic pupils have been gaining some practical, hands-on experience, supporting us with the following tasks:
- Business card design
- Advert design and delivery
- Packaging design
- Website concepts
- Book designs
- Logo designs
This has been a great opportunity, not only for the 2 ladies as they learn and develop their skills; given the space with us to put their theories into practice, meet clients, and understand how the academic and working worlds differ, but also for us as we gain 2 new pairs of hands to help us complete and begin new projects with our web design partners, Webkick, and gain fresh perspectives.
“This is my first experience within design agency,” commented Rachael. “And I’m really enjoying it. The wide variety of work and different clients Webkick and Created work with has been really interesting, and the little hints and tips picked up from Nicole and creative director Edward Thomas will come in really useful for me, both personally, and for my career development.”
It’s been a pleasure to support these vibrant young women on their journey to becoming the next generation of Graphic Designers, and I’d like to wish them the very best of luck for the future.
